Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: MO license or compact required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH required Must-Have: Must have been at the bedside within the last 6 months. Description: We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Step Down Unit. The role involves managing patients who require a higher level of care than a general medical-surgical unit but do not need the resources of an intensive care unit. The nurse will handle a patient ratio of 1:4. Two weekend shifts are required every other weekend, with the possibility of Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday for night shifts. Candidates should possess competencies in titration of vasopressors, sedation medications, and management of various medical devices including arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes. Experience with high acuity patients in a step-down or similar setting is essential. The unit features interdisciplinary support from various departments. Special procedures and equipment for this role include Bipap, Opti flow, and arterial line management, which are non-negotiable. Candidates must meet all compliance requirements prior to starting the assignment. All travelers will float within the service line as needed.
