Make Smart Decisions. Help Investors Move Faster.

Great underwriting is about more than checking boxes. It's about understanding risk, making sound decisions, and finding ways to get good deals done.

That's what we're building at New Silver.

New Silver is a technology-enabled private lender focused exclusively on residential real estate investors. We help investors finance fix-and-flips, ground-up construction, and rental properties nationwide through one of the fastest and most convenient lending platforms in the industry.

As an Underwriter, you'll play a critical role in evaluating loan opportunities, structuring transactions, and ensuring we maintain strong credit standards as we grow. You'll work closely with our Loan Advisors, operations team, and leadership to make informed lending decisions while delivering the speed and certainty our borrowers expect.

We provide the technology, resources, and opportunity to make an impact. You bring the analytical skills, sound judgment, and ownership to help us grow responsibly.

What You'll Do

  • Underwrite residential investment loans, including fix-and-flip, ground-up construction, and DSCR rental property financing
  • Evaluate borrower creditworthiness, liquidity, experience, financial strength, and overall loan risk
  • Analyze property valuations, appraisals, budgets, and collateral to determine appropriate loan structures
  • Review borrower documentation, entity structures, and supporting financial information
  • Identify potential risks, resolve exceptions, and recommend appropriate credit decisions
  • Collaborate with Loan Advisors and operations to move qualified loans efficiently from application to closing
  • Ensure loans meet internal credit policies and applicable investor and capital partner guidelines
  • Leverage proprietary technology and underwriting tools to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in underwriting processes, credit policies, and risk management

Why New Silver

  • Competitive salary up to $120,000 based on experience
  • Opportunity to play a meaningful role in credit decisions and company growth
  • Modern technology that streamlines underwriting and reduces unnecessary administrative work
  • Exposure to multiple real estate lending products and complex transactions
  • A collaborative, high-performing team that's building one of the fastest-growing private lenders in the country
  • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement as New Silver continues to expand

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in real estate lending, credit analysis, or loan underwriting, with a strong understanding of credit risk
  • Familiarity with business-purpose residential investment loans, including fix-and-flip, ground-up construction, or DSCR financing, is a strong plus
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate borrower financials, property valuations, and loan structures
  • Sound judgment and confidence making well-reasoned credit recommendations
  • Excellent attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with sales, operations, and leadership
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple transactions and deadlines
  • Proficiency with Excel, loan origination systems, and modern financial technology
  • A proactive problem-solver who takes ownership and looks for solutions
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred

Our team regularly comes together in our West Hartford and Portsmouth offices because we believe collaboration leads to better decisions and stronger relationships. We move fast, challenge each other to improve, and take pride in delivering exceptional results.

We believe great underwriting balances disciplined risk management with a practical, solutions-oriented approach to lending. We're looking for people who take ownership, think critically, and want to help build something exceptional.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Remote flexibility with opportunities for in-person collaboration
